“Atchoo!” sneezed Henny Penny. “Atchoo! I must take my dustcloth outside and shake it.” She hurried outside to shake her dustcloth this way and that. When she was shaking it, an acorn fell from the oak tree and landed on Henny Penny’s head.

“Cluck, cluck, cluck.” Clucked Henny Penny.  “Mercy, mercy me! I do believe the sky is falling! What shall I do? I must go and tell the king.”

So Henny Penny, cocky locky, goosey loosey, Turkey Lurkey, and ducky lucky started to follow Foxy Loxy.  Foxy Loxy led them through the grass and bushes. They were in a dusty musty kitchen in a dusty musty house. Foxy loxy shut the door behind them.

Turkey Lurkey asked, “Is this where the king lives?”. “No, my dears,” said Foxy loxy. “This is my house. I thought we could have dinner before we see the king. Just sit yourselves down and I will light the fire.”

Henny Penny stood very still and looked around. She saw feathers on the floor and old bones in the corner. She saw foxy loxy putting a big pot of water on the fire. And she saw him set the table with one fork, one plate, and one big sharp knife.

She felt nervous and said to herself. “I may be silly, but surely there is something I can do.” She had an idea.

“Oh, foxy loxy. What a mess. Do let me tide up around here!” Said Henny Penny. And she pulled her dustcloth out of her pocket. Foxy loxy was very surprised.  Cocky locky, goosey loosey, Turkey Lurkey, and ducky lucky stared at her and said “What about our dinner?”

“Let’s make Foxy loxy comfortable first.” Said Henny Penny. “Now, Loxy Foxy you sit down and take a little rest. I will give your room a polish. And we will wake you up when it’s clean.” Foxy loxy stroked his whiskers. His house certainly was messy, now that he looked around.

“Very well then. But be sure to wake me up the moment you have finished.” Said foxy loxy.

She started dusting and in some time Foxy Loxy began to snore. After that, she explained to all what Foxy loxy is about to do with them. Foxy loxy opened the door and all escaped from that house. Foxy loxy woke up just as the door banged shut behind him.

After that, they all went to Henny Penny’s house and had a wonderful corn cake. After that, they came out of the house and an acorn fell from the oak tree and landed on Henny Penny’s head. And she shouted that sky is falling again. After that Cocky locky, goosey loosey, Turkey Lurkey, and ducky lucky laughed at Henny Penny and told her that was not a sky, it was an acorn.
